Members | Appearing Before the Committee |
The Joint Utility Committee (JUC) has been established to provide a streamlined review for the development process. All infrastructure projects within the City of Hurricane are required to bring their designs before the JUC to receive a proper review and comment. Once the comments have been addressed on the project plans, the developer must obtain the signatures of each member of the JUC prior to starting work on the project. This process ensures that the City Standards are upheld and that all who provide services in the City of Hurricane are familiar with each project.
Meetings are hosted by the City of Hurricane Public Works and Engineering Departments every Wednesday at 9:30 am in the City Council Chambers. The public is invited to attend these meetings.
Members of the JUC include representatives from the following districts and utility companies:
UTILITY / DISTRICT |
Hurricane City Building Dept. |
Hurricane City Power Dept. |
Hurricane City Water Dept. |
Hurricane City Streets and Drainage Dept. |
Hurricane Valley Fire District |
Ash Creek Special Service District |
TDS Cable |
Quest Communications |
Queststar Gas |
To present a potential project before the JUC, please contact Mike Vercimak by phone at 435-635-2811 ext. 119, or by email, by noon on Tuesday, to be on the Wednesday agenda. If your project is preliminary in nature, please bring three (3) copies of plans with a size of 11"x17" at minimum. If you have engineered drawings that you would like to get comments on, please submit eleven (11) sets to Mike Vercimak by noon on Tuesday to be distributed at the Wednesday meeting.
For those wishing to obtain approval signatures for walls within utility easements, the JUC meeting provides a convenient way to find all of the utility operators in one room. Please contact Mike Vercimak to get on the agenda for this purpose.
