The Trails Committee helps the city develop plans and programs that expand and improve a network of walking, hiking and bicycling trails within the city. The goal is also to interface our trails plan with the trails plans of our neighboring cities for connectivity.
Transportation is at the heart of every society and is deeply intertwined with our lifestyles. This new plan is dedicated to creating a community where walking, hiking and bicycling are safe, normal, healthy and fun daily activities. Connecting neighborhoods, parks, shopping areas, and neighboring cities are key elements of this new plan.
The new Trail Master Plan envisions natural surface paths for hiking and mountain biking; paved surface, multi-use paths for walking, running, and recreational cycling; and designated bicycle routes on paved streets for commuting and long distance travel.
