About the Planning Department

The Planning Department is charged with the review of all new residential, commercial, and industrial projects within the City of Hurricane. We take into account zoning, parking requirements, setbacks, heights, landscaping, and building materials.

The Planning and Zoning processes and procedures include appearing before the Planning Commission.

Hurricane City Downtown Master Plan

Hurricane City is creating a new Downtown Master Plan. Visit https://hurricanedowntown.com/ for updates, information, and chances to provide feedback.

The above proposal will be open for public comment at the Planning Commission meeting held on June 8, 2023 at 6pm located at the City office. We encourage the public to read through and come with comments/concerns to be heard for the City Council's consideration.

The Planning and Zoning office handles enforcement of all land-use ordinances within the city. Please contact the city offices at 435-635-2811 if you have any concerns.
