Hurricane Power Board has developed a policy for solar installations called the Grid-Tied Distributed Generation Policy. If you are thinking of installing renewable energy equipment download, print, fill out and turn in the following documents to the Power and Building Department.
Note to builders: Before installing renewable energy equipment contact the Building Department to assure that the proper permitting requirements are followed.
For solar companies: Before selling in Hurricane City, you will need to schedule a Solar Installer Orientation with the Power Department. It is required to obtain a solicitor's license for each individual who will be going door-to-door to sell, as well as having the proper licensing for the State of Utah for installation. Unless each of the requirements has been met, we cannot accept an application from your company. This helps ensure that licensed and approved companies are out providing information to our residents that is specific to our area.
